Services

The Zen Buddhist Temple of Chicago is offering virtual Soto Zen Meditation Services until the public health risk presented by COVID-19 has passed. Please join us on Zoom for the following weekly scheduled services. Meditation instruction will be provided at the begining of each service. Newcomers are always welcome!

 

 

We are please to announce twice weekly morning Zen Meditation Services Tuesday and Thursday on Zoom. Please use the link below to join and leave at you convenience. You will need to enter the passcode since attendees are free to come and go. Here is the schedule:

  • 6:10AM to 6:50AM Zazen
  • 6:50 to 7:00 Kinhin
  • 7:00 to 7:40 Zazen
  • 7:40 to 7:50 Kinhin
  • 7:50 to 8:30 Zazen

 Sesshin

We offer virtual Sesshin every 3rd Friday of the month. Sesshin runs on Friday and Saturday starting at 6:10AM and ending at 8PM. Please email info@zbtc.org for more information if you are interested in participating.

We also encourage zen practitioners to join Sesshin with the Sanshin Zen Community. Sanshin's At-Hom Sessin run the first weekend of every month from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon. You must register on their website in advance. More information can be found here

 

Dharma Study

The Zen Buddhist Temple will be hosting an online Dharma Study group twice on month on the second and fourth Friday from 7PM to 8-ish. We will be reading and discussing the Lotus Sutra and plan on covering one chapter per meeting. We will discuss meeting organization in more detail during the first meeting. If you are interested in joining please contact info@zbtc.org for more information. Or simply join as you are able at the Zoom link below. The first meeting will be on Feb 12.
