Dharani of Great Compassion (Japanese)
Also known as the Dharani of Great Compassion or the Great Compassionate Mind Dharani, this dharani is chanted at our special services and auspicious occasions. "Dharani" is a Sanskrit word that literally means "to preserve and uphold." Longer than a mantra but shorter than a sutra, the meaning of the dharani is in its sounds rather than its words.
