Overview of Zen services

The Temple offers a variety of services to the local and online community. Everyone is welcome. All services are open to everyone at any time. You do not need to be a member of the Sangha to attend.

Zazen

We offer five Zazen services each week (see weekly schedule below).

Meditation retreats (sesshin)

We hold two meditation retreats (sesshin) per month, one in person and one virtual.

Dharma discussions

We offer two online Dharma Discussions per month with readings from classical and contemporary Buddhist literature and conversation facilitated by an instructor.

Buddhist holidays

We also present special services on Buddhist holidays, with extra chanting and a formal Dharma talk by one of our priests.

Zazen

Newcomers are welcome at every service. We will provide meditation instructions at the beginning of each service, and an attendant will provide guidance for the simple rituals involved in a Zen service.

Please arrive at least five minutes early for Sunday and Wednesday services in order to get settled before we begin.

For the Tuesday and Thursday online morning service, feel free to enter and leave as your schedule allows. However, if you are coming to the early morning service as a newcomer, please try to login at the beginning and let us know so you can receive meditation instructions.
